Tantalising Feast at the Tang Room Starling Mall

I have been to Starling Mall numerous times and walked past the Tang Room many many times but only had the chance to try out their food first time last night. Thank you, Tang Room for your gracious hospitality and for having me do a food tasting and review at your place.

Tang Room is one of the many restaurants managed by the Oriental Group of Restaurants, famous for their fine Chinese cuisines. It was indeed an unforgettable gastronomic adventure.

The ambience. Dining in luxury.
It was indeed a feast for the senses. Not only the food was awesome looking (yes, they take pride in their food presentation which you will see more later), the ambience at the restaurant was also drenched in splendid gold! I loved the gold themed deco. It's so classy and luxurious.

Be prepared to drool over these tantalising food shots. I drooled too just my looking at them!
The first item I tried was a light appetizer called Crispy Okinawan Sweet Potatoes with White Truffle (RM18 per portion), comprising of crunchy deep fried Orange and Purple Potatoes. It was sweet and crispy. It can be pretty addictive. Once you start, you can't stop!
The next dish's food presentation simply made my jaw drop!
Check out the food presentation!
This platter consist of 4 items. It's a platter of Chilled Jelly Chicken, Abalone, Black Squid Ink Ball and Baked Crab Meat (RM88) Suitable for up to 3 pax dining.
Check out my Abalone!  The Abalone was carefully marinated with a super appetising sauce I could not resist. It made my mouth water with desire. It was presented beautifully with a shell, holding on to the Abalone. Talk about being so detailed in their food presentation, I admire the beauty of ever dish that came. I also love the Baked Crab Meat that was presented in a tart-like crispy pastry.

Next, I tried the Double Boiled Seafood Soup in Baby Pumpkin with a crispy roll (RM22) per pax. This soup is packed in incredible depth of flavours. Boiled to perfection, it really warms my tummy.

This is one amazing dish I tried. The Charcoal Grilled Pork Ribs Spanish Style (RM138 July's Promo)

These Iberico  ribs(Spanish Black Pig) are carefully marinated with herbs and a special marinade that is bursting with flavours. If you come with a family of 4-5 you can order this as the serving is huge!

Gloves were also specially prepared for guests who want to handle the ribs with their hands, but don't want to dirty their hands all over. How thoughtful!

The Charcoal Grilled Pork Ribs Spanish Style comes with a serving of green salad lightly marinated as the flavours from the ribs are already so flavourful.

After a great meal, we were presented with these citrus juice as our palate cleanser.

Next, I tried the Rice Noodle with Cod Fish & Minced Ginger in Superior Soup (RM22) per pax. Understanding their customers, Tang Room came up with small servings like these noodles to cater to small eaters who wants something light or those who want to try other items on the menu. I think this is a great move!

The soup is served separately in a cute tea pot.

The fish is meaty and mouthful.

Next, the hungry wolf tries the 3 little piggy pau's. Aren't they just too adorable to eat?

These Piglet Custard Buns (RM5) each are actually Lau Sha Pau

And lastly it's dessert time!

The Durian Pudding (RM12) per pax is presented with a smoky effect. The dry ice underneath makes it really look like a witch's brewing pot! How interesting!

Lemongrass Jelly (RM9) per pax is just my kind of thing for dessert! How unconventional.

And hey, did you know that if you want privacy, the Tang Room offers private dining rooms that look like this.

Thank you...for an unforgettable dining experience, Tang Room. I will be back for more wonderful feasting with my parents! I can't wait to bring them here again.
